LSVT BIG is a program that certified physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists and occupational therapist assistants use to treat patients with Parkinson’s disease or other neurological conditions that present similar symptoms.

Parkinson’s disease makes it difficult for people to control movement in their bodies, making everyday activities such as walking, talking and swallowing challenging. The LSVT BIG program trains people to improve movements related to everyday physical activities: walking, sitting and standing, self care (from getting dressed to brushing teeth) and more. The program developed out of LSVT LOUD, a form of speech therapy also geared toward those with Parkinson’s disease.

IV/infusion therapy and vascular access management involve delivering fluids, medications and blood products directly into a patient’s bloodstream through vascular access devices. This is a crucial medical procedure used in various treatments and requires careful monitoring and management to ensure patient safety and effectiveness.

Pelvic floor therapy focuses on improving the function of the muscles and tissues in the pelvic floor region, which helps support the bladder, bowel and uterus. It can address various issues like urinary or fecal incontinence, pelvic pain and sexual dysfunction.

Wound VAC therapy, also known as Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT), is a specialized wound care technique that uses a device to create a negative pressure on the wound, promoting faster healing by removing fluids and debris and encouraging new tissue growth. It’s a common treatment for various wounds, including chronic wounds like diabetic ulcers, pressure sores and surgical wounds.

Dysphagia treatment aims to improve swallowing safety and effectiveness, and can involve speech therapy, dietary modifications, medications or surgical interventions, depending on the underlying cause and severity.
